Day 13 - June 9

We enjoyed another of the incredible breakfasts this hotel offers this morning. I love the coffee here. It reminds me of Italy. Very smooth and not very strong. You don't even need sugar.

After breakfast, we all boarded the bus for Old Town Dubrovnik. This incredible fortress was built - or at least started - in the 12 century. It is very old. We started our time here with a city tour. Tamara is a wealth of information and gave us a lot of Croatian history as we walked through the Old Town. After the tour, we opted to walk along the top of the city walls. This walk is close to two miles and the views are spectacular from every direction. After our walk along the city walls, we had lunch together in the Old Town.

Just all wonderful experiences. The people are great and having the opportunity to be here is incredible. And in spite of so much heartache in my life, being with Matt never ceases to be enjoyable. We are so well matched in every way. His desire to never spend a nickel is a little challenging for me at times but I'm learning to speak up for myself when I want to spend and he is always good to bend.

After lunch, we went to the Maritime Museum and wandered around. This was for Matt. I could have skipped it but it was interesting for me, at least a little.

And of course, because we are who we are, we had to go to the top of the Fortress located a short distance from the main Old City Walls. It wasn't too difficult of a hike and we were rewarded with more of the views of the coast line. Kayaks were out on the turquoise water and you never tire of this beautiful sight.

It is so hot today. My phone said it hit 96 in the Old Town and we are roasting. Decided to head back to the hotel. Figured out the city bus and returned. Took a quick dip in the pool. Felt so good.

After our swim, we showered and headed downstairs for the farewell drink with the group. Our group leaders said some nice things and we all shared a drink. Such a bunch of nice people.

Ate another huge meal in this place. I really don't care for buffets, no matter how magnificent they are. That's the honest truth. They just aren't very good.

Afterward, Matt and I headed out for a walk to digest dinner and enjoy a lovely evening, our last one here.
